Day 13: Holiday baking

Am I the only one that cuts up my sticks of butter so that they will come to room temperature more quickly since I have, yet again, forgotten to take them out of the fridge ahead of time? Oh c'mon, nobody else?

I put my butter in the microwave on a very low power setting. You really have to watch it though--it's easy to melt it instead of just soften it. Cutting the stick of butter in smaller "blocks" helps too before you
put it in the microwave. MLK

I actually have never thought of that. It's a really good idea. I have a "soften" setting on my microwave that works pretty well but usually I take the butter out and leave it on the counter for 2 or 3 days "just in case" I get around to baking.
