Rave reviews

In my quest to become more knowledgeable about photography and digital camera technology, I have always had it in the back of my mind that I need to learn how to use Photoshop. It seems that I just missed the technology boat in high school. Computer technology wasn't quite there yet, and I had a typing class but no computer class. I know...kind of crazy that I missed out on something that is so prevalent and basic to elementary and junior high kids today. So I was thrilled today to find that Adobe Photoshop has a new website called Photoshop Express. It is a quick, smaller version of the larger Photoshop application. What's is even more exciting is that it is very intuitive and user-friendly. That is of utmost importance to me, considering my aforementioned lack of computer intuition. Finally, I can correct, crop, and manipulate my photos 'til my heart is content. To celebrate, I bring you my first photo I turned black and white with this website.

Karis, lizard watching.

You might also try The Gimp (just Google it). It's an open source (read: FREE!) photo-editing software that is pretty extensive. I've been just as happy with the Gimp as I have been with Adobe Photoshop.

Hearin' you from 95! I learned to type on a type writer!

Here's a blog request: Could you sometime take some pictures, play with them on Photoshop and then give us the before and after and tell us what you did? I've seen amazing things done and I would love to learn more about it as well! :-)

(ooohh... and I also just scored a deal on a D40...I'm anxiously awaiting for it to come tomorrow! Yipee! :-)

love the pic. She looks so grown up...and mom is so "grown up" too - using all that fancy computer technology stuff. Impressive!

Irfan view is another good one, it's a free download program, and you can do all kinds of things like crop, color correct, and have fun with effects. =)

I would LOVE to get together this week. I was just thinking about you earlier. I have had a stinky mommy week (with Evie) and would love some big girl time. Let's do it!

I did not use my first computer until my first day at Milligan college, so I completely understand. AND, I still can't type because I spent my ear in Miss Mazz's typing class talking to Michelle. Oh well. I need you to come photograph my babies. I try, but do not know the first thing about photography. I posted 20 pics of the A-team yesterday, but they just aren't as amazing as yours. I hope all continues to go well your way. Love and prayers!
