She's only has two teeth, she babbles on without making any sense, lives in the backwoods of Florida, and loves the music of Allison Krauss...a hillbilly, maybe? Nope. Just our 6 month old daughter. We've discovered that our kiddo is a bluegrass lover at heart. Whenever she is fussing and ready for bed, we put on the "magic music" of Krauss and the Union Station band, and almost instantly Karis is quiet. Whether she is mesmerized by the strumming banjo, the melody of the mandolin, or the sweet vocals, our little one knows the sound of good bluegrass music when she hears it. Now I just can't wait for her to fit into these adorable boots that were given to her. (Have no fear, folks. Funky hot pink boots and Allison Krauss are about as hillbilly as I'll let her stray!)

My kids also get a healthy dose of Alison Kraus and other bluesgrass and I can reassure you that the damage doesn't seem to be permanent. There aren't many hillbillies in Italy, though, which might count in as a factor...

Mmm, Alison Krauss. Good call, Karis. If we have a girl, pass those cute boots our way. :)
Maybe you guys should move to Boone. I know A LOT of Bluegrasss musicians here! And really, hillbilly is just an idea. She'll be fine...she'll love the best of both worlds! I am as rural as you can get, have a strong Southern accent, love bluegrass (and every other typre of music), married a deputy (Barney Fife anyone?), and ride horses a couple days a week. My kids must have no hope! But we do take a trip to Winston-Salem every three months for our dose of huge shopping, big resturants, and city traffic. Maybe you guys should come visit during Merlefest here in Wilkesboro...Alison usually makes an appearance, as well as Nickel Creek, one of my other faves!
I love it!
Alison Kraus is NOT hillbilly music! She's a classy southern girl. You've been out of the south too long, my friend. :) So glad you're comin' back. When're y'all headin' up our way again?
I am so jealous she has two teeth! X has *just* broken the gums on one. It has been a long miserable road.... but I totally love the Alison Krauss thing! It's amazing what music does for our kids, for X it's been Maroon 5 from the day he was born. In fact i just listened to it a zillion times last night as it was the only thing that kept him quiet (terrible cold). Glad to hear you are doing well!!!

so cute! I love how you tool that pic too
For your friend Alexis: Aiden was 18 months when he got his first tooth. His take FOREVER. He just turned 3 and he is starting on his two-year molars. Abigail got her first tooth at 8 months. Our pediatrician said that it is normal for boys to take longer and have a harder time with teeth than the girls. Just thought that might be some good info for you new mommies = )
